Farmers Acknowledge the Greatness of R7 Hybrid Corn

R7 hybrid corn is recognized by farmers for its greatness feature. This corn is recognized with its feature that can live in the middle of hillsides and strong winds. In addition, this corn is also free from downy mildew attacks, which is always a problem for corn farmers.

“Incidentally last week there was heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in this area. I had expected that there would be many fallen plants. But after checking everything was still standing, sturdy,” said Danu, a corn farmer in the Batu Korsi area, Citaman village, Nagreg (13/02/2023).

According to her, R7 hybrid corn seeds have many advantages. In addition to high production and resistance to stem rot, this plant has strong roots and stems. This advantage makes the R7 hybrid corn able to withstand strong winds.

“Usually, when there is a tornado, many of the corn plants fall. Thank God, they are still strong without any of them falling,” she added.

Area Manager Raja West Java Region Raja Heldiyana also gave his comments on the superiority of the R7 hybrid corn. He said that although he is a new player in the national hybrid corn nursery, the presence of the R7 variety is able to provide a promising alternative for farmers. Heldiyana hopes that the R7 hybrid corn seeds will be able to increase national corn production in the future.

“Seeing the response and demand from farmers. We are optimistic that the development of R7 hybrid corn seeds in West Java will continue to increase,” he said.
