The Price of Lampung Robusta Coffee Beans Soars Up

Robusta coffee bean prices in Lampung Province skyrocketed. This price comes from the farmer’s level price in Tanggamus Regency. Previously, the price of Robusta coffee was IDR 25.000/ kilogram (kg). Now the price is IDR 35.000/ kg.

Reporting from news.republika.co.id, Farmer Triyatno said the price of the coffee was quite high. This coffee farmer from Ngarip Village said that this increase could increase the economic standard of the farmers. However, this was not followed by high productivity of coffee plants.

“The coffee harvest has decreased compared to last year due to high rainfall. However, we think the production is still quite good,” he explained. Triyanto added that this year’s coffee plant productivity is only 700 kilograms per hectare.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture and Livestock Service Office of the Tanggamus Regency said that Robusta coffee is the main commodity of the Tanggamus Regency. Division Head Dhani Riza said that Robusta coffee in Tanggamus Regency is the second largest supplier in Lampung Province.

“The biggest coffee supplier in Lampung is in West Lampung. The number two is in Tanggamus,” said Dhani. He also said that the total coffee production in Tanggamus in 2022 would reach 31,986 tons.

Dhani explained that currently almost all sub-districts in Tanggamus have become coffee-producing centers. Among them are the sub-districts of Cukuh Balak, Talang Padang, Wonosobo and Pugung.
