East Kalimantan Records Commodity Exports Worth 2.45 Billion USD

East Kalimantan Province recorded 2.45 billion USD for its commodity exports in January 2023. This value came from oil and gas and non-oil and gas exports. However, there was a decrease of 19.76 percent compared to the previous month, amounting to 3.05 billion USD.
“Although the export value in January decreased compared to December. However, when compared to January 2022, East Kalimantan exports in January 2023 increased by 126.56 percent,” said Head of the Distribution Statistics Team for the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for East Kalimantan Marinda Dama Prianto in Samarinda (06/04/2023).
Reported by antaranews.com, The decline in exports in January 2023 compared to December 2022 was due to a decline in exports. With Non-oil exports of 16.98 percent and oil and gas exports fell 37.03 percent.
The decline in the value of oil and gas exports was contributed by the decline in exports of all oil and gas commodities. Among them is the export of oil products which fell 33.96 percent. Followed by gas exports fell 37.97 percent.
Another commodity with a significant decline in the percentage value of exports was the inorganic chemicals group. This commodity decreased by 13.96 million US dollars or 28.41 percent. Meanwhile, processed pet food commodities fell 8.48 million US dollars or 75.97 percent.
“The decline in exports occurred to China which fell 96.97 million USD or 11.73 percent. Then Bangladesh which fell USD 82.66 million USD or 64.15 percent,” he said.
