World’s No.1 Gold Mine Owner is from Indonesia

The owner of the world’s number 1 gold mine is actually in Indonesia. Number 1 gold mine is owned by MIND ID Mining SOE Holding.

Reported by cnbcindonesia.com, Main Director of MIND ID Hendi Prio Santoso gave an explanation. There are two MIND ID subsidiaries engaged in gold mining. Namely PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) and PT Freeport Indonesia.

“The MIND ID Group operates in 17 provinces in Indonesia. Globally (MIND ID) is rank 4th as the largest nickel ore producer in the world. The 1st largest gold mine in the world. The 3rd largest copper mine in the world, and the largest producer of nickel ore in the world. the 2nd largest tin in the world,” he explained (26/8/2023).

Hendi revealed that MIND ID also secures various other minerals such as lithium. This mineral is a component or raw material for electric vehicle batteries.

In addition, Hendi also explained the steps taken to prevent supply shortages. His party will continue to intensify mining exploration. So, it can provide the availability of various kinds of minerals.

“MIND ID is currently making aggressive exploratory moves to pay attention to reserve replacement ratios.” add.

For information, Indonesia’s mining commodities are one of the mainstays in bringing state revenue. This sector brings state revenue of IDR 155.75 trillion in 2022.
