Superior Quality Seeds is the Key to Corn Productivity

The use of superior quality seeds is the key to increasing national corn productivity. Yadi Sofyan Noor, Chairman of the National KTNA, explained it in his visit to the Syngenta Seed Indonesia seed processing center.

“Using high-quality superior corn seeds is one of the keys to increasing national corn productivity. In addition to access to superior seeds themselves. This activity is very useful for farmers because they can recognize and access superior seeds. So it will increase productivity and welfare of farmers,” said Yadi in Pasuruan, East Java .

According to Republika.co.id, Yadi and hundreds of KTNA farmers had the opportunity to review the process of producing quality superior corn seeds. The results of analysis by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for 2021 show that superior corn varieties have a higher potential to produce corn than other varieties.

The analysis also note that the average national corn productivity is 5.7 tons per ha (14 percent moisture content). Based on the level of productivity, Java Island tends to have an average productivity that is higher than outside Java Island.

One of the innovations produced by Syngenta Indonesia is superior corn varieties with the latest technology seeds. Among them are NK Swordsman Sakti, NK Sumo Sakti, and NK Perkasa Sakti. Syngenta was the first company to launch corn seeds with multiple advantages. It is expected to help farmers overcome the problems of corn cultivation.
