Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno explained how to make Bondowoso coffee more known. Sandiaga said that there are several aspects so that the exported coffee commodity has added value. This value will introduce Bondowoso coffee more widely in the world market.
“These millennials are interested in aspects of sustainability (environmental sustainability). This means that agriculture and coffee plantations in the future must prioritize aspects of sustainability such as using organic fertilizers, and others,” he explained in an official statement (15/01/2023).
According to antaranews.com, Sandiaga said there were three aspects that needed attention. First, coffee businesses must be digitized and use an application. Second, pay attention to the technique aspect or roasting process. Third, consider the health aspects of coffee so that it is consumed properly and measurably.
Based on these aspects, his party wants to provide assistance by incubating coffee sellers. This assistance will be carried out together with the Government of Bondowoso Regency.
“We hope that these millennials are ready to accept the relay from farmers. The coffee commodity has added value to open the widest possible employment opportunities,” he added.
Indonesia Coffee Reputation
Sandiaga also said that Bondowoso Regency is one of the high-quality coffee-producing regions in Indonesia. Therefore, more branding and marketing is needed for this product.
“Because Argopuro Coffee and Java Ijen Raung Coffee have already been exported, the brand can later be added as a product ‘Produce by Bondowoso’. Because social media already exists, this is an agreement among coffee sellers here to increase promotion,” he explained.
Indonesia Coffee is one of the best coffees in the world. In addition, Indonesia also ranked 4th as the largest coffee exporting country. Coffee production in Indonesia can reach 600 kg up to 700 kg per hectare.
“This requires innovative creativity inspired by coffee connoisseurs, baristas, and millennials at the forefront,” said Sandiaga.
