Phytosanitary Certificate Encourages Banten Agricultural Exports

The Cilegon Agricultural Quarantine has issued a Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) to facilitate export requirements for agricultural commodities from Banten. Based on IQFAST Cilegon Agricultural Quarantine data from 2021 to February 2023, the economic value is estimated at Rp. 4.5 trillion.
Reported by antaranews.com, Head of BKP CIlegon Arum Kusnila Dewi explained that in terms of volume, export performance over the last three years has always increased. For example, in 2022, the economic value will increase by 36 percent from the previous year. This increase is worth Rp. 3.2 trillion.
“This good performance was created by the cooperation and compliance of 120 export-import business players. Followed by 13 registered fumigators,” said Arum (12/03/2023).
From the agriculture sector, there is potential for beneng taro derivatives that have been utilized. Namely processed taro leaves and taro tubers. For information, the leaves and tubers have been exported through the port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya. Apart from beneng taro, there is also potential for export of herbal products such as spices, clove oil, coffee, citronella oil and vanilla.
Apart from that, Arum also explained that swallow nests are one of the biggest export potentials in the Banten region. This commodity has been registered Government to Government with GACC. Currently there are 107 swallow houses spread across three districts namely Serang, Lebak and Pandeglang. Banten also has three processing partners or swiftlet nest processing sites.
To support the acceleration of exports of these superior commodities, so his party has prepared several facilities. Starting from the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) at the port of Cigading and the One-Stop Service Center (PPSA) at the Port of Ciwandan. This facility will continue to be improved in order to provide convenience to the community.
