Maluku Fisheries Exports Increase 71 percent

Exports of live fisheries commodities from Maluku have increased. This was stated by the Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Center (BKIPM). This commodity has increased by 71 percent as of August 2023.

“The export volume of live fisheries commodities in the period January to August 2023 is 250,352 fish,” said Head of BKIPM Ambon Hatta Arisandi in Ambon (19/09/2023).

Reported  by antarnews.com, the export volume of non-live fishery commodities in the period January to August 2023 has also increased. This increase reached 8,053,663 kilograms or 89.39 percent from the same period last year.

There are 13 countries that are export destinations for the period January to August 2023. These countries are China, US, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Canada and South Korea.

“The five largest export destination countries are China, US, Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam,” he added.

Arisandi also hopes that BKIPM Ambon will continue to experience positive improvements in the export sector. So that it can provide assistance to the surrounding community.

“Yes, I hope that BKIPM Ambon can continue to progress in the future, hopefully our performance will be even better in the future. There is indeed an improvement because this work unit really continues to provide the best to service users. This has resulted in quite a lot of improvements significant compared to last year,” said Arisandi.
