23 Companies Enter the Downstream Agenda Plan

As many as 23 large companies are included in the national mining downstream agenda plan. This agenda is carried out for domestic and foreign companies for 2026. From these companies, the estimated investment value will reach USD 30.9 billion.

According to medcom.id, Deputy for Investment and Mining Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Septian Hario Seto revealed that the 23 companies are spread across a number of sectors which are included in the national downstreaming agenda. He also added that many companies are already in the process. Starting from applying for permits to waiting for approval to obtain facilities. He believes this agenda can be realized up to 80 percent of the total pipeline.

“Therefore, it is necessary to focus on accelerating permit licensing so that the pipeline can be realized. We have made an inventory of around USD 30.9 billion. This pipeline is not just doodles on paper,” said Seto in the 2022 Investment Partnership Forum (08/12/2022).

Seto hopes that incoming investment collaboration with regional MSMEs will also increase. The 23 companies included in the pipeline are Anugrah Barokah Cakrawala worth USD 453 million, Adaro Aluminum Indonesia worth USD 2 billion, and Tongkum Petrochemical Indonesia worth USD 9.9 billion in Kalimantan.

From Sulawesi, they include HPAL Pomalaa (Vale-Ford-Huayou) worth USD 3.5 billion, CNGR Pomalaa New Energy Materials worth USD 1.2 billion, Zhongtsing New Energy worth USD 787 million, QMB HPAL Expansion worth USD 777 million, BTR Anode Project worth USD 478 million. , the Chengkok Lithium Project worth USD 350 million, and the IKIP HPAL Project worth USD 2.75 billion.
